Community Outing

Provides our participants the opportunities to participate in everyday outings that provide inclusion into the community. It helps assist them in developing positive rapport with the community as they are introduced to more social scenarios and interactions with individuals outside of their own Day Program. Events such as picnics, outdoor BBQ’s and field trips to further include them in the community and help them familiarize and practice being part of a communal group.

Crabbing in San Francisco

Crabbing is one of our favorite activities at Apollo ADP. The recreational Dungeness crabbing season for the San Francisco Bay Area is open from November 6, 2021 to July 30, 2022 and our Apollo ADP family joins the local holiday tradition in the Bay Area. We also catch rock crabs throughout the year and have our participants bring home our catch of the day to share and enjoy a meal with their family or care providers at home.

Apollo ADP strictly follows California regulations and licenses for catching crabs in California to help protect their population and ensure their survival for future crab lovers like us.

WILD LIFE VIEWING: Sea Lions and Bird Watching

California is home to wide diversity of wildlife. Apollo ADP explores national parks that offer a unique experience for watching wildlife. It is an activity that our participants enjoy to venture out on the trails that are wheelchair accessible and enjoy the surroundings.

Wildlife watching is a practice that can sharpen our senses and teach us about relationships between living things and the earth. It may cultivate an understanding of our own relationship to other living things, strengthening our bond to nature.
